One small thing - Too many balls are in the air and I’m dropping some of them!
One small thing
The newsletter for busy people
Hello there,
Last week I posted this on LinkedIn:
“So often in life we get overwhelmed with stuff. You are busy, but ticking along quite nicely, and then from out of nowhere something extra arrives and throws everything off. Balls get dropped, plates stop spinning and you just want to crawl into bed to hide.
One extra thing can add in so much stress and make life so complicated that you cannot see the wood for the trees. It can make you grumpy, snappy, and irritable and the world does not get you at your best.
Although you think that you are good at being professional and try to keep life and work separate, your feelings and behaviour have an impact on EVERYONE else around you.
When that happens it pays to have a strategy to try to keep things simple. So the next time that one extra thing threatens to overwhelm your very being, please remember to ask yourself:
👋🏻 What can you let go of?
☑ What can you move from your to do list?
😊 Who can you ask for help?
🆕 What can you do differently?
These are some of the questions that I ask my coaching clients. When you are struggling and feeling overwhelmed, it is hard to find a way through. I make things easier by helping you to focus on easy wins. That helps to clear the decks and create more space so that you can focus on the bigger picture. Then you can make meaningful changes in your life.”
It was a very timely post as this week I find myself having to take my own advice. Last week was stressful and my capacity to keep everything on track has been tested to the limit. I am typing this newsletter on the train as I make my way to a conference and do not have my usual amount of time to write. My brain has been feeling less than creative and I have had to prioritise tasks.
👋🏻 So I have let go of social media posting.
☑ I moved planning new things from my to do list so that I can focus on what needs doing right now.
😊 I have called on support when I need it.
🆕 I have said no to things and I have been realistic about what I can achieve this week.
I hope that you have some time to rest over the Easter break and I will be taking a break from my usual newsletter next Monday.
I am really looking forward to some holiday next week!

Coaching Prompt
"Who can you ask to help you?"
Some of us do not find it easy to ask for help. People do not offer to help if they don’t mean it. Stop saying no and accept help when it is offered. You may make someone’s day!
3 songs long
I chose 3 songs for the playlist because it lasts for 10 minutes (ish). That 10 minutes is the perfect length of time for you to either listen, relax, do an exercise snack, walk round the block, or do anything you fancy to music (go wild with your imagination). You can listen to my playlist or make one of your own.
That's it for this week. If you would like to explore how to take the next steps please check out my website to find out more about working with me. I would love to chat with you to see how I can help you to make a start on your next fabulous adventure.
I’m taking a break over Easter so will see you in two weeks!
Love from,
