Dr Lucinda Homer Coaching
Hello there,
It’s Monday and my newsletter is here.
Just doing one small thing might be all that you need to have a positive impact on your week.
I have been immersed in history this week and in particular the unsung and under reported history of women. I have had several "well I never knew that" moments.
I am really enjoying the podcast Normal Women by Philippa Gregory. I have added a link to the second episode but the first one was excellent too. I listened to both while doing some cleaning - it definitely made the chores go faster but also stirred my activism tendencies!
Something to read...
“The big idea: what my grandmother’s lipstick taught me about the past”
Annabelle Hirsch
"Perhaps because women are so often conflated with objects, considered equally insignificant. Or perhaps because both have long been downplayed as being on the margins of history – and thus gone overlooked and unheard. The fact is that the objects standing around in antiques shops and flea markets, warehouses and museums, offer incredible access to the world of women’s experience."

"Normal Women ... are angels"
Philippa Gregory
"Just how should women behave? Throughout History, they have so often been expected to act as genteel ladies and confined to the home - often described as the 'angel in the house'. But far from remaining passive, many used their influence to put themselves at the heart of radical social change. In this episode we hear about the anti slavery campaigners - and Philippa introduces us to the hundreds of women who absolutely, under no circumstances wanted the vote.
Joining Philippa to discuss the push and pull of homely responsibilities throughout history are:
• Geri Halliwell-Horner former Spice Girl and children’s author and
• Kate Mosse, best-selling novelist and the founder of the Women In History campaign"
Coaching Prompt
"What will happen if you do nothing?"
This is one of my favourite questions. It always helps me to move towards a decision. Even if that decision is to do absolutely NOTHING.
Nothing may be the correct thing to do.
But what if it isn't?
3 songs long
I chose 3 songs for the playlist because it lasts for 10 minutes (ish). That 10 minutes is the perfect length of time for you to either listen, relax, do an exercise snack, walk round the block, or do anything you fancy to music (go wild with your imagination). You can listen to my playlist or make one of your own.
That's it.
See you next week.
